Two simple routes

Choose how each service gets paid

Online payments and in-person payments can work side by side. There is no need to replace the tools your business already uses.

01

Online

Get paid when the customer books

Set up a connected Stripe account through secure onboarding. When online payment is required, the customer completes Stripe Checkout before the booking is marked paid. Accounts with the optional payment-links feature can also request payment for an existing unpaid booking.

  • Require full payment for selected services
  • Let a customer choose between paying now and later
  • Copy or email a secure link for an unpaid booking when enabled
  • Booking status updates after a successful payment
  • Stripe pays out to your registered bank account

Stripe's processing fees and account requirements apply. Book In Time does not add a percentage or per-booking payment fee.

02

In person

Keep the card machine you already use

Take cash, bank transfer or a card-machine payment at the appointment. Then open the booking in Book In Time and mark it paid so your records stay current.

  • Works with any external card terminal or payment app
  • No Stripe fee when Stripe does not process the payment
  • No need to change your existing provider
  • Simple manual paid-status update

External payments do not sync automatically. Book In Time does not currently integrate directly with Tap to Pay or a card reader.

Online payment flow

From booking to payout

The customer gets a secure checkout. You get a clear payment status against the booking.

Clear answers

Payment questions, answered

Does Book In Time take a percentage of customer payments?+

No. Book In Time does not add a percentage or per-booking fee. Stripe applies its standard processing fee when it processes an online payment.

Can I keep using my current card machine?+

Yes. Take the payment through your existing terminal or payment app as normal, then open the booking and mark it as paid in Book In Time.

Will card-machine payments appear automatically?+

No. Payments taken outside Book In Time are not imported or matched automatically. You update the booking’s paid status manually.

Do I need Stripe?+

Only if you want customers to pay online while booking or through a secure booking payment link. You can use Book In Time for scheduling and continue accepting cash, bank transfer or card payments in person.

Can I send a payment link for an unpaid booking?+

Yes, when the optional booking payment links feature is enabled for your account. You can copy a secure Stripe Checkout link or email it to the customer from the unpaid booking. A successful payment updates that booking automatically.

Can I take a partial deposit?+

Not currently. For each paid service, you can require full online payment, allow payment later, or let the customer choose between paying now and later.

Does Book In Time include Tap to Pay or a card reader?+

Not currently. Book In Time does not connect directly to a card reader or Tap to Pay. You can still use any existing in-person payment provider and mark the booking paid afterward.
